Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Analysis is a simple, non-invasive way to assess how well your body is managing stress, recovery, and overall health.
By measuring the small changes in time between each heartbeat, we gain powerful insight into how your autonomic nervous system is functioning—this is the part of your nervous system that controls things like your heart rate, digestion, and response to stress.

Heart Rate Variability Analysis
Why HRV Matters
Your heart doesn’t beat like a metronome—and that’s a good thing.
A healthy heart will have small, natural variations between beats. This variation is called Heart Rate Variability (HRV), and it’s one of the best markers of your nervous system balance and resilience.
• High HRV is typically a sign of good recovery, adaptability, and nervous system health.
• Low HRV can indicate stress, inflammation, chronic fatigue, or nervous system imbalance.
HRV gives us real-time insight into how your body is coping and where support may be needed. It can even detect subtle dysfunction before symptoms appear.

What Is HRV Analysis?
HRV Analysis involves the non-invasive evaluation of your autonomic nervous system, which includes:
-
The parasympathetic nervous system (rest, recover, and digest—controlled by the vagus nerve)
-
The sympathetic nervous system (your stress response—“fight or flight”)
By assessing the balance between these two systems, we can determine how well your body is responding to internal and external stressors.
This assessment is based on a short 10-minute ECG (electrocardiogram) recording, done in person at the clinic.
What Can HRV Analysis Help With?
HRV is one of the most valuable biomarkers for identifying imbalances in nervous system function and overall health and may help with:
HRV Analysis is Useful
This tool is particularly useful for individuals dealing with:

Chronic Stress

Pain

Fatigue

Burnout

Mental Health Issues

General Wellness

Sleep Issues

Autoimmune Disorders

Long COVID

What To Expect
We use a quick and comfortable ECG (electrocardiogram) reading to analyze your HRV. This standard medical test tracks your heart’s electrical signals and provides a snapshot of your nervous system function.
Appointments take approximately 60 minutes as part of an initial consult and are conducted in-person only.
Please Note: HRV appointments are morning only and cannot be booked online.
To book, please call the clinic directly: 506-857-9898
How To Prepare for Your HRV Appointment
To get the most accurate results, please follow these guidelines:
• ✅ Have a good night’s sleep (at least 6 hours)
• ❌ Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours beforehand
• ✅ Eat a light breakfast or fast before the appointment
• ❌ No coffee, tea, or energy drinks at least 2 hours prior
• ❌ No alcohol for at least 12 hours prior
• ✅ Empty your bladder before arriving
These steps help ensure your nervous system is in a resting state and not influenced by outside stressors or stimulants.
Monitor Your Progress Over Time
HRV isn’t just a one-time test—it can also be used to monitor your health status and progress during treatment, especially when paired with non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (nVNS). We use HRV to track your nervous system's response and guide your recovery plan.
Ready to Learn More?
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, fatigued, or just want a deeper understanding of your health, HRV Analysis offers clear, measurable insights into how your body is functioning—and where support is needed.
